Your Body Matters

What would be possible if you had a window into the deeply held patterns that have been holding you back all your life?

Have you realized that something else is operating in the background  -- controlling the state of your mind, mood and ability to effect movement -- something that seems just beyond your reach?

No matter who we are, and what we do, our leadership presence & style is deeply shaped by two major things:

1. our environment

2. our contexts

Our soma, (so-mah: the body in its living wholeness) is comprised of many aspects of our existence, including:

  • biology
  • personal histories
  • cultural background
  • socio-economic status
  • political environment
  • psychological, and
  • spiritual landscapes

All of which determine & influence how we show up in the world.

Only by deeply understanding our soma and the "somatic shape" can we can identify what holds us back. Gaining access to that knowledge will help you break through areas in which you have felt blocked so you can live into your true leadership potential.

We know a little something about how to get you there.

Introducing #practicingJUSTICE

align your body, mind & life force to power the big change that matters

what’s this retreat about?

the practicingJUSTICE model applies the principals of somatics, grounded in embodied leadership, to un-layer, unpack & reveal the many ways oppression limits your ability to align your leadership with the values & principles that drive your work.

by awakening deep understanding, this training enables individuals to generate new pathways towards a whole & complete shape that can hold our true individual & collective leadership potential in service of our liberation.

who is this retreat for?

practicingJUSTICE offers significant value to, and expands the potential of anyone invested in deepening their self-knowledge, and tapping into their full leadership potential.

but if you're moving important work -- a CEO, executive director, and senior staff of movement-building organizations, an educator, community organizer, advocate, activist, yoga & mindfulness leader, coach, healer or socially-rooted entrepreneur -- and you view & navigate the world through a socio-political lens, this retreat was especially designed for you.

our approach

Embodied leadership is a methodology that combines the biological & social sciences to provide a framework for analysis and action. At its core, somatics empowers interconnection and balance of mind, body, & mood.

Embodied leadership begins by examining unconscious practiced behaviors, established by our interactions with family, community, & society throughout our lives, that blocks us from taking empowered action on your own behalf & ultimately aligning your behavior with your values & principles. It continues by establishing physical, emotional, & intellectual practices that shake up & shed those binds.

How Deep Will You Go?

practicing justice 1.0

Start Here>> Get insight into how your conditioning shapes how you move through the world. "It's not your fault, but it's your responsibility." Construct your personal shield to counter negative self-talk before it derails you. Develop a roadmap for moving forward with a clear plan to accomplish goals you've always known were calling you forth. Establish practices that: enable making better choices from your center; increase stability; and reveal how you show up in your power.

practicing justice 2.0

Now the deep work begins. You've started the journey, applied the core practices in your life and have seen where you're strong and where you're still holding back. 2.0 introduces you to a refined awareness of your own deeper motivations and gives you the tools to redirect poor uses of energy and power. Learn how to interrupt unskillful habits before they cause calamity, and how to be graceful and take fierce responsibility when you don't.

practicing justice yearlong

Mastery takes many repetitions. Most of us go from one retreat to the next hoping the concepts will stay with us, but often fail at keeping up with the work once back in our day-to-day lives. Fortify your leadership with a multi-pronged structure of accountability with master-level coaching, community, check-ins, more. Invest in this one year, and you can become the leader you're meant to be, by getting the support you need and deserve.

How Practicing Justice Makes A Difference

Don't take it from us. For the past four years, people just like you -- and really different ones, too -- stepped forward and chose to get more right with themselves by Practicing Justice inside and out. (The retreat used to be called Oppression In The Soma, but that wasn't sexy.)

What Are You Investing?

That's right, we said Investment. Because that's exactly what this unique opportunity is. An investment in becoming more whole for yourself and those you love.

We also know money is real and different for everyone, so we've created a tiered system to automagically extend support if it can make the difference in you showing up. On the other hand, if financial resources are available to you, the invitation is here to pay it forward.
