here's how you get to Moloka'i

flight information:  When booking your flight look at Hawaiian Air, United, Delta, or other major airlines that fly to a main island. Most airlines do not travel directly to Molokai, so you will have to book a commuter plane; Mokulele Airlines to reach your final destination, Molokai. 

Please plan your air travel to Molokai, Hawaii so that you arrive between 1pm & no later than 6pm. 

Check out is 11am, on your departure day. Please plan your flight's departure time for 1:30pm or later. 

When You Arrive

The Molokai Airport is very simple. Your bags will arrive in the lobby and transportation by van or taxi will take you to the Hui Ho’olana retreat center. 

The spirit of the land greets you in our way of being, aloha, slow down this is Molokai.

If you arrive outside the group pick up times (historically 2pm - 6pm), you’ll be responsible for getting to the Hui from the MKK airprt at your own expense. You can use the rental car, taxi service information provided below in that circumstance.

Taxi service from the airport or the ferry can be arranged through; Hele Mai Taxi at 808-336-0967 or 808-646-9060 or Molokai Off-Road Tours & Taxi at 808-553-3369.

We recommend booking Hele Mai Taxi at least 3 weeks in advance. We have had great experience with their service.

vehicles

Vehicles for island tours/field trips are not provided by the retreat. Car rentals are limited on the island & often sell out. We recommend booking a rental 2-3 weeks in advance of the retreat to confirm availability. If you plan on getting a rental car, please inform the retreat coordinator.

schedule

arrival day: please arrive after 1pm, and no later than 6pm. Light appetizers & refreshments, also known as "Pupus", will be provided upon arrival.  The retreat begins with an opening ceremony at 6:30pm, followed by dinner & a relaxing evening.

 meals: 3 freshly prepared meals provide a wonderful cadence each day for nourishment at 8:30am, 1pm, and 6:30pm

 integration day - (typically a Wednesday) a day to explore

One day during the retreat will be largely unscheduled for participants to explore the island or simply relax & integrate the retreat experience.

The Hui is on 100 acres with miles of walking & hiking paths to immerse your be.ing experience with nature.

Travel to the beach (Halawa Valley pictured here) & into town is also possible, encouraging folks to carpool. We may also be able to use a van, if enough people are interested. 

departure day: 

AM Closing circle, May you go well, retreat ends at 10:30am.

Check out time is 11:00AM on departure day. Your timely departure is appreciated, as the Hui Ho'olana is unable to host guests on site after 11am. Please plan your travel arrangements accordingly.

We ensure your transition from Moloka'i to your next destination is acknowledged through a closing ceremony.  

You will also be responsible for taking your personal wooden jo "staff" with you.
